What is Anjing, Anjay, Anjir, and Anjim Means in Indoneisa?

Basically "anjay, anjir, and anjim" was a derivate word from "anjing" itself, which in English means "dog". in Indonesia, it was a common swear word that comes from a big urban area. Usually the word "anjing" was used by the teenager to mock something in a bad way. Meanwhile "anjay, anjir, and anjim" was used politely, not as harshly as "anjing".

Another derivate of those words such as 'njing, njirr, njim'

Well, just like all other words, the using of those words could mean anything, depends on the situation, condition, and intonation. 

Examples of common using 'anjing, anjay, anjir, and anjim'

'anjing' in mocking way

'anjing lu!' = 'you're a dog!' = 'fuck you!'


'anjay' in compliment

'anjay gue keren' = 'damn im so cool'


'anjir' in a spurprised moment

'anjir kok lu bisa gitu?' = 'damn how did you do that?'


'anjim' in a verry polite way

'anjim gua gak nyangka' = 'holly moly, im not expecting that'


Anjay word itself went viral once in Indonesia in 2020 due to Lutfi Agizal, a celebrity that also an influencer that made out a statement to prohibit the use of the word 'Anjay' to the Indonesian Child Protection Commission. This phenomenon went viral cuz in that time, so many issues about political correctness spread all over Indonesia. Indonesian netizens went mad and hate Lutfi Agizal causing them to report and take down his Instagram account many times. In the end, Lutfi apologized for the mass controversy and decided to cancel and stop his proposal about the word 'Anjay'.
