Pretending to be "in Trouble"

Indonesia's social media in 2021 showed many phenomena that expose the existence of some people who pretending their 'in need/in trouble' condition to get sympathy. 

Some stories that went viral such as a woman that consciously threw some rice in a road in the middle of the night and then pretended to be picking it up. Another story was from a motorcycle meatball seller that pretend to be in an accident and cause some of his loaders was spilled on the road. The others come from people that pretend they were a wanderer from a rural area who is losing all of their belongings.

Those people was having the same purpose to get the attraction of people around them, then they will tell a sad story of way much terrible conditions that came upon them. Some people who feel sorry for them will give some money straight away and they will repeatedly do this at different times/places to earn big money easily.
