Prove of Deflation - Short Story About Work and Life Experience

I once worked as a brickmaker in a small company owned by one person who owned a huge land area. In that dozens hectares of his land, some areas have good quality clay and I worked there to produce bricks.

The company has achieved stable profit production rate per day until the covid virus come causing economic instability. In just one month deflation and inflation could happened because people panic buying then realize to saving money at the same time.

In a month, our company brick sales dropped significantly until there was no purchase at all. It makes our monthly salary unpaid although the brick production still done daily for 3 months afterward. We all understand the situation and still worked for him because we also didnt know what to do.

The owner felt guilty, he was open and explained his company's financial problem, and apologized to all of his employees many times. He decided to stop the company production right after that whole 4 months. He makes an agreement to exchange the unpaid salary with the bricks that we produced for the same nominal price.

The bricks will be delived to each of our house if we had enough space to store it. But if they don't, the owner allow us to leave the brick on his land and can be collected any time. Because I had a big space in my yard, the whole 2 trucks of my salary brick was sent to my house.

Luckily, not long after this, our country's condition got better. I successfully sold 1 truck of my brick even though I sold it at a low price. I managed to survive the deflation because I worked as a spare parts salesman.

I used the rest 1 truck of my brick to build a room and later I made it as a small store to sell spare parts. I explained to my youngest son that that room is the productive room, the room where I got busy doing work and stuff. My oldest son then replied

"Productive room, the 'prod' is stand for prove of deflation"
